1451 - John Soreth becomes General of the Order
* Carmelite Nuns are instituted
1562 - Beginning of the Discalced Carmelites in Spain
* St. Teresa of Jesus founds the Reform of the Nuns
* St. John of the Cross becomes the first Friar and founds the Reform of the Fathers
1790 - Discalced Carmelite Nuns come to the colonies
1962 - Vatican Council II
* Return to the Spirit of the Founder: Call to Holiness
1991 - New Constitutions
* Calced and Discalced branches come closer together
